Some pools just can't be saved with chemicals alone. When algae takes over and water chemistry gets too far out of range, you're past the point of shock treatments and weekly skimming. The only real fix is starting completely from scratch - drain it, clean it, and rebuild from the ground up.
That's exactly what we did here. The pool was drained down completely, then we did a full professional wash of the shell to clear out the algae staining and buildup left behind on the plaster. Once the basin was clean and dry, we could actually see the surface clearly and confirm it was in good shape to refill. That matters - because putting fresh water over a dirty, algae-coated surface just sets you up to fight the same battle all over again.
We also pulled apart the sand filter while the pool was empty. The sand inside a filter has a lifespan, and when it gets saturated with algae debris and old contaminants, it stops doing its job. Old sand can actually push junk back into the water instead of catching it. Fresh sand in the filter means it's working with the clean water instead of against it.
Once the pool was refilled and the filter was back online with fresh media, the chemistry was dialed in and balanced out. The result - clear, blue water with good circulation and a filter that's actually doing its job. That's what a proper green pool cleanup looks like. Not a shortcut, but a real fix.
If your pool is sitting green or cloudy and you're not sure where to start, the answer usually isn't more chemicals. It's a proper diagnosis and the right process. We handle full green pool turnarounds, filter cleaning and repair, and ongoing pool cleaning to keep things from getting to that point again.
