Clear water is deceiving. A pool can look perfectly fine from the surface while hiding cracked tiles, deteriorating surfaces, and failing hardware underneath. That gap between looking okay and actually being okay is where real damage happens - and where small problems quietly turn into expensive ones.

Here's what we were working with on this job. The spillway tiles had a full-length crack running right through them - the kind of break that lets water get behind the tile and start undermining the bond underneath. Left alone, that leads to more tiles popping off, water intrusion, and structural issues that go well beyond a simple tile swap. We pulled the broken tiles out completely and replaced them with matching pieces, reset properly so the bond is solid.

The spa surface was patched using pebble - which is the right material for this application. It blends with the existing finish, holds up to the temperature swings a spa goes through, and gives the surface real durability. Pebble patching done right is nearly invisible once it cures and the water fills back in. That's the goal - a repair that looks like it was never there.

We also swapped out the main drain cover. This is one of those things that gets overlooked because it's underwater and out of sight. But drain covers are a safety item - worn or broken covers are a code issue and a hazard. A new cover is a simple fix with a direct impact on how safe the pool is to use.

The finished spa is clean, tight, and back in proper working shape. No loose tiles, no exposed substrate, no compromised drain cover. That's what targeted pool and spa repair looks like - not a full gut job, just the right work done in the right places.
